About Home Energy Hive

Our Mission

Home Energy Hive was created to help homeowners and renters cut through the confusion around smart home technology and energy savings. With utility costs climbing and new smart devices launching constantly, it’s hard to know which products actually save money and which are just marketing hype.

Our goal is simple: give people clear, practical and useful information so they can make confident decisions about smart thermostats, home batteries, solar basics, and everyday energy-saving habits — without needing an engineering degree to understand it.

Who We Are

Home Energy Hive is run by Khalid. He is studying automotive mechanics and works hands-on in a repair shop, but he is not an HVAC installer or an electrician. He got interested in home energy after seeing how much small changes could save on monthly bills, and how hard it was to find clear information that was neither too technical nor disguised advertising. That is why he started this site.

Our Approach to Content

For each guide we read official data (ENERGY STAR, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the IRS for tax topics), manufacturer spec sheets and real owners’ experiences, and we link those sources so you can check them yourself. We have not tested the products we write about in person, and we say so in each guide. Calculators show their assumptions, and each article shows the date it was last reviewed. If you find a mistake, tell us and we will correct it. Our full method is on the How We Research page.

Important: Home Energy Hive is an independent educational resource. We are not licensed electricians or energy consultants, and nothing on this site should be treated as a substitute for professional advice for your specific home. Always consult a licensed electrician before making changes to your home’s electrical systems. You can read more in our Terms and Conditions.

How This Site Is Supported

Home Energy Hive is free to read. There are no affiliate links on this site, and no brand pays to be included or to be recommended. In the future the site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Ads will always be separate from the articles and will not change what we write.
